One of the traditional projects of the Outreach area
during the Christmas season is the “Wonder Wreath.” This project
highlights deserving charities and projects (Enon Emergency Relief &
IHN are on each year) and gives church members the opportunity to
give to the ones of their choice. At the same time we will beautify
the church. The project started as the “Beautiful Bush” and for
several years a tree with no ornaments was placed by the altar. For
each contribution an ornament was placed on the tree and by
Christmas it was a fully decorated Christmas tree. The children in
the Nursery School made the ornaments. The tree was moved to the
back of the sanctuary as an outline of a tree on the back wall.
Finally, several years ago, a large undecorated wreath was
substituted. The wreath, located in the front of the church, is
decorated with ornaments, one for each donation received. The
picture below shows our fully decorated “Wonder Wreath” on the last
Sunday of the year.
