HEIFER PROJECT
INTERNATIONAL
Since 1944 Heifer Project International (HPI) has
been providing hungry families with sources of food rather than
short term relief. HPI is an ecumenical, non-profit organization
which works in partnership to alleviate hunger and poverty by
helping families become self-sufficient for food and income on a
sustainable basis. HPI projects include providing animals, training
and technical assistance to low-income families in 40 countries and
12 states. HPI provides 18 different kinds of food and
income-producing animals, as well as intensive training in animal
husbandry, community development, and ecologically sound and
environmentally sustainable agricultural methods.
Our church supports Heifer Project International
with financial support through the Outreach budget and also through
the Festival of Sharing. For more information on Heifer Project
