Adopt-A-Family Christmas Auction

The community conducts an annual Adopt-a-Family program at Christmas time. The program is administered by the Enon Emergency Relief and matches families who need assistance with churches, organizations, and families who are willing to provide help.

Our church has adopted families since the program began. We usually adopt 12-15 families each year. Opportunities to provide gifts for family members are offered as soon as information is available. In addition food is collected for four Sundays to split among the families. Finally, to buy added food and gifts, money is raised through an Adopt-A-Family auction. People donate handmade items and home made food items which are auctioned off. Pictures of past auctions can be found here.

You can participate by providing a handmade item(s) or home made food item to auction and attending the auction, usually held the 2nd or 3rd Saturday in November at the church. In addition you can help in sorting, assembling, and delivering the food and presents to the adopted families. The program will be advertised in the Parish Voice and Sunday bulletins or you can contact the Outreach chairperson or the Pastor for more information.
